It was a pleasure working with the entire DD team through every stage. Jim and Dan walked us through the process and answered all our questions patiently. Working with Pati on the design was a delight and it was exciting to see how everything came together after all the shopping and decisions she helped us make. All our friends compliment the exceptional finish and one of them said everything looks special and we cannot agree more. Our onsite PM, Mike, was always on top of things, very friendly and cheerful. They delivered the home on time in just over nine months. It is very clear everyone takes great pride in their work.

We bought our brand-new home in 2018 from Distinctive Domain and sold it in 2023 when we moved out of New Jersey. Although our stay was short, we can’t say enough good things about Distinctive Domain. Jim Brenn and his team built an exceptional home. The craftsmanship is par excellence, with great attention to detail. The house is very energy efficient and has high-value appliances. The design is flawless and functional, and we have loved and enjoyed every moment of our stay. When we first bought the house, Jim and Dan made the process smooth and efficient. Throughout the years, they maintained excellent communication and were always available to answer any questions or address any concerns. They are straightforward, reliable, easy to work with, and make a great team. We strongly recommend Jim and his team!

We were introduced to Distinctive Domain through our real estate agency to build a new house that we had been dreaming of. The first meeting with DD had to be held through Zoom in the very beginning of Covid 19 Pandemic. When we started to talk with Jim & Dan at the meeting, they wasted no time in helping us develop an extensive building plan that satisfied our budget. Though we had some unconventional ideas, they were very willing to accommodate our desired plan and were transparent throughout the process, updating us with progress through the building procedures. In addition, we appreciate the effort to help us move in a timely manner, in spite of the pandemic situation. Our friends are often surprised to find that we were able to find a builder in these times to complete our house, and we are grateful that there was very little delay. By following through with this ambitious project, we’ve overcome many obstacles and we thank Distinctive Domain for being with us every step of the way. It has been a fun challenge and we wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.

We hired Distinctive Domain to build our new family home. It started with an empty lot and resulted in a beautiful new home! Jim was very helpful from day one. He explained each step of the process, answered all of our novice questions, made suggestions based on his wealth of experience and ensured that our needs were met. Distinctive Domain really took the time to understand our needs – and constraints – to build a home that we could all be proud of. Pati, Jim, Dan and our on-site PM Mike, very quickly became a part of our extended family. They took a vested interest in the design (architecturally and aesthetically – flow/materials/colors/lighting/etc.), helping to enhance or offer alternatives that remained budget-friendly. When challenges arose, Distinctive Domain operated in a very solution-oriented, professional, and transparent manner. Suffice it to say, they were fair and friendly…and delivered a quality space that we gratefully call home. Highly recommend Distinctive Domain.

We have built a custom home once before, but nothing compared to our experience with Distinctive Domain. Jim and Pati Brenn are a pleasure to work with. Everyone warned us that building custom is a nightmare, but they always make it interesting and fun. These builders take pride in their work and it shows. We have about 4 more months to go before completion, but we already know the results are going to me amazing.
